Our Story
Welcome to Go Shred, where the soul of surfing meets creativity! Founded by Derek Eisenkerch in 2025, our brand is all about living life on your own terms and having a blast while doing it. Originally from New Jersey, Derek made the leap to Oceanside, California, in the mid-80s, moving here with his mom and brother, and he’s been riding the waves ever since.
With over 30 years in the surf game, Derek's journey began as a young grom, hustling at Bingo Surf Shop and later Black & White Surf Shop (mostly skating the mini ramp in the back). Growing up, he spent countless hours surfing the Oceanside Pier, harbor and beach breaks with friends and skateboarding all over downtown Oceanside, soaking up the vibrant culture and camaraderie that comes with it. Fast forward through 13 epic years at Surf Ride, 3 years with Reef, and another 13 years at Captain Fin, Derek has absorbed everything the surf world has to offer...and made countless friendships along the way.
Now, as a proud husband and father of three boys, Derek is dedicated to sharing his passion for the ocean and adventure with his family. At Go Shred, we’re all about fun, friendship, and freedom. We believe that every surfer should have the chance to express their unique vibe, which is why we create high-quality, fully customizable surfboard fins that let your individuality shine. We’re here to empower surf shops, shapers, and brands to design their own fins—because surfing is more than just the ride; it’s about the unforgettable moments we create together.
