Go Shred Limited Warranty
Go Shred is proud of the design, materials, and craftsmanship of our surfboard fins. We offer a Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects to the original purchaser of fins bought directly from Go Shred or an authorized Go Shred retailer.
Warranty Period: Your Go Shred fins are covered by a 1-Year Limited Warranty from the original date of purchase. (Optional: If offering a premium line: "Our [Premium Line Name] fins are covered by a [e.g., 2-Year or Limited Lifetime] Warranty from the original date of purchase.")
What is Covered: This Limited Warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship that occur during the intended use of the product for surfing.
What is NOT Covered: This Limited Warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear (e.g., scratches, cosmetic dings, color fading).
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper installation (including over-tightening of fin screws or use with incompatible fin systems).
- Accidental damage, including but not limited to, damage from impact with reefs, rocks, the ocean floor, other surfboards, or damage occurring during transportation or storage by the user.
- Damage resulting from alterations or modifications made to the fins (e.g., sanding, painting, reshaping).
- Damage due to prolonged exposure to excessive heat (e.g., fins left in a hot car or direct sunlight for extended periods, leading to warping or delamination).
- Lost fins or fin components.
- Products purchased from unauthorized dealers or resellers.
- Intentional Breakage for Board Protection: Go Shred fins are intentionally designed to break at the base under severe impact. This is a crucial feature to help prevent more significant damage to the surfboard's fin box. Such breakage, occurring under these specific high-impact circumstances, is considered part of the fin's protective design and is therefore not covered as a manufacturing defect. Please refer to product documentation for further specific design features of your Go Shred fins.
How to Make a Warranty Claim:
- To initiate a warranty claim, please contact Go Shred Customer Service at info@goshredco.com.
- You will need to provide:
- A valid proof of purchase (e.g., original sales receipt or Go Shred order confirmation) showing the date of purchase and the name of the authorized seller.
- A clear description of the issue.
- Photographs (and videos, if helpful) clearly showing the purported defect.
- Go Shred may require you to send the fin(s) to us for inspection. If so, you will be responsible for the shipping costs to send the product to Go Shred. We recommend using a trackable shipping method.
- Go Shred will inspect the product to determine if the issue is covered under this Limited Warranty. This determination is at the sole discretion of Go Shred.
Our Commitment: If your warranty claim is approved, Go Shred will, at its option:
- Repair the defective fin(s).
- Replace the defective fin(s) with an equivalent product. Go Shred will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replacement fin(s) back to you.
This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state or country to country. This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.
